Rory Wick

Rory Thompson Wick, 32, of Mountain View died Nov. 5, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 1, 1981, on Maui, he was an artist and a Waldorf educator.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu, 28-1630 Old Mamalahoa Highway, for an 11 a.m. service. A potluck follows. Family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by daughters, Aurora Wick, Savannah Wick; son, Robin Wick; mother, Elizabeth (Timothy) Hall; brothers, Matthew (Summer) Appleton, Paul Wick; sister, Naomi Wick; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tammy Ke

Tammy “Ipo” “Baba” Kuuipo-Nohea Ke, 54, of Naalehu died Nov. 8, 2013, at Ka‘u Hospital. She was born June 11, 1959, in Ka‘u.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 across from the Punaluu Beach Park pavilion. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughters, Sky Ke of Oregon, Hope (Aaron) Ke-Leibner of Keaau; son, John (Delia) Ke of Washington; mother, Agnes Publico of Naalehu; father, James Ke of Naalehu; sisters, Kitty Roy of Oregon, Noela (Asa) Pritchard of Naalehu, Kim (Mel) Viloria of Waimea, Blossom Lamb of Texas; brother, James (Stephanie) Ke of Kalopa; eight grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Yukie Fujioka

Yukie Tanaka Fujioka, 92, of Papaikou died Oct. 27, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Dec. 6, 1920, in Honomu, she retired from the state Department of Health as a clerk typist and was a member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ, Hawaii Government Employees Association Retirees Unit and Hiroshima Kenjinkai.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers and monetary gifts.

She is survived by son, David Fujioka of Papaikou.

Jason Saks

Jason Matthew Saks, 43, of Waimea died Oct. 31, 2013, at his home. Born Aug. 4, 1970, in Denver, he was a resident manager.

Friends may call at 10 a.m Nov. 23 at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor for a service. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Flowers are welcomed.

He is survived by wife, Faith Saks of Waimea; daughter, Jessica Saks of Canoga Park, Calif.; sons, Micah Citron, Caleb Saks and Samuel Saks, all of Waimea; father, Joseph Saks of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sister, Karen (Glenn) Achziger of Broomfield, Colo.; paternal grandmother, Carmel Fernandez of Ft. Collins, Colo.; two nieces; one nephew; numerous cousins.

Franklin Carlson

Franklin Delano Carlson, 79, of Keaau died Sept. 26, 2013, at home. Born in Sacramento, Calif., he was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran and retired U.S. postal worker.

No local services are planned.

He is survived by son, Carl Carlson of California; daughters, Rena Carlson and Jennifer Carlson, both of California, Sherry Carlson of Hawaii; hanai son, Steven (Ro-Ann) Martin of Keaau; brothers, Alfred Carlson, Robert Carlson and Milton Carlson, all of California; sister, Eileen Winn of California; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Fujie Hirayama

Fujie Hirayama, 99, of Hilo died Oct. 28, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born March 13, 1914, in Ninole, she worked for the former KK Tei Restaurant and was a member of the Papaikou Hongwanji Mission and Buddhist Women’s Association.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by sons, Raymond (Dinah) Hirayama and Wayne Hirayama, both of Honolulu, Paul (Mei-Jayne) Hirayama of Honomu; daughters, Thelma Tatsutani of Hilo, Elsie (Roy) Oka of Pepeekeo, Myrtle Hirayama of Honolulu; brother, Takeyoshi (Hatsuno) Fujimoto of Ninole; sisters, Violet Oketani of Honokaa, Chizuko Honma of Paauilo, Doris (Hisa) Wakahiro and Janet Junko (Paul) Togawa, both of California; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mae Main

Mae Fisher Main, 99, of Honolulu died Oct. 27, 2013, at Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Honolulu. Born May 23, 1914, in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a homemaker.

Private services were held.

She is survived by son, Robert (Evelyn) Main of Honolulu; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren.

Paul Malnati

Paul Henry Malnati, 78, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 10, 2013, at Nakamaru Hale. Born July 12, 1935, in Pittsburgh, he was a retired computer specialist, sales associate for Walmart, Air Force veteran and member of Kai O Pua Canoe Club.

A private service will be held.

He is survived by wife, Elaina Malnati of Kailua-Kona; sons, Tony (Elizabeth) Malnati of Sacramento, Calif., Vincent Malnati of San Francisco; sister, Judy Hullinger of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
